Next time I will squat you!
So today is a glorious day weather wise and I am very pleased with my graduate professors one week in, a great week thus far. But all is not rainbows and glitter in my world. I am slightly frustrated with myself because I am weighing in at 193 and I want to weigh > 190, ideally less than or equal to 185. I am eating well, seeing gains in the gym, but I am having a hard time shedding the grasa....

And so it begins!
Haven’t posted a workout since last Friday and I wanted to make sure I did one tonight. Memorial Day Weekend was jammed packed with fun and enjoyable times spent with some of my friends and my boy McKay. I ate a ton of pancakes and meals that incorporated them as well. So this week is a “cleansing” week for all the nonsense that went down while I was in the city.
Exhibit A: An...

Long Workout!
So today was in fact an amazing workout session where I saw gains, range of motion improvements and total swag surfing on people in my first late night session (5:30pm) at Gold’s. I am normally out of the gym by 11am-1pm depending on when I wake up. Today though I had some errands to do and a doctors appointment to go analyze some x-rays I had taken a week ago for my shoulder and wrist,...

1.) MYTH: EATING AT NIGHT MAKES YOU FAT
FACT: If your overall calorie intake is appropriate for weight loss or maintenance, it may benefit you to eat something after dinner, says Joni Rampolla, RD, Director of Nutrition and Wellness for Medifast.

Getting it in, any way I can.
The gym this week is not going to be my best showing at all, mainly because I was diagnosed with sprained left shoulder and a sprained right wrist…fml. I feel like punching the guy who totaled my car and injured me right in the side of his head. lol, not really. But not lifting or being able to push myself to get to the goals I have set for me to try and achieve before the summer really irks...

SFS: Cardio Does Not Burn More Calories Than... →
strengthfromstruggle:
Contrary to long-held belief, strength training is—as new studies have shown—superior to steady-state cardio in caloric burn. In one University of Southern Maine study, participants blasted as many calories doing 30 minutes of weight training as they did running at a six-minute-per-mile pace for…

Muscle Does Not weigh More Than Fat.
strengthfromstruggle:
If you place one pound of muscle on a scale and one pound of fat on a scale, they will both weigh one pound. For example a pound of rocks weighs the same as a pound of feathers. The difference is in the total volume! Muscle is about 25% 33% more dense (size/circumference area) than fat. This is why it’s not uncommon for people to lose pant, shirt or dress sizes and...

Tomorrow in the AM
The thought of lifting weights tomorrow really excites me. I love the gym. I don’t know why anyone would not love it, anyone?

Back at it.
So, I had a fantastic weekend in the ATL seeing a little of Buckhead and what I was told was the Bethesda of ATL (For those of you from DC or MD). What comes along with great sites, expensive 5 star hotels, and boulevards with expensive boutiques? Good eats! I was unfortunately fortunate enough to eat at some nice ass restaurants while I was there. I had chicken, duck, filets, crab, tiramisu, and...

No fancy name for this post, just doin' work!
Exhausted is how I would like to start this off. Luckily I am now in the comfort of my home with a stomach full of a good healthy din-din, munching on watermelon in gym shorts, chillin’.
Today was the second day of this new style of working out I decided to use. The main focus of today was Back and Shoulders, I have yet to decide how I am going to divide the arms up, it isnt a big deal but...

Week 5: Day 4 - Shake a "leg" and "shoulder" lean!
So I go by EST and it is 10:46pm, I have been out of the house since 9am, I am so god damn tired. Today was the unofficial but still official start to a new workout regimen. I was thinking over stuff I’ve read, comments I have received and noticeable changes in my physique since I’ve started. There is change and there is difference, but moderate change only. I do not want to say I am...

Time to change it up.
For me at least workout wise, due to popular demand I am going to start working out differently today. Fitblr is a great tool for people to critique and offer advice and I am taking that advice. I am moving from my routine to one that focuses more on those core groups (chest, back, quads, hams) and hits them harder and more frequently. So today is Legs coupled with shoulders, while manana will be...
